• Professor Jin Shengwei and other four from WMU selected into the third batch of the "Ten-thousand Talents Plan" of Zhejiang Province
  • Recently, the leading group for talent work of the provincial Party committee announced the list of the third batch of the "Ten-thousand Talents Plan" of Zhejiang Province. Professor Jin Shengwei was selected as the outstanding talent, Professor Shen Xian was selected as the leading talent of scientific and technological innovation, and researchers Wu Jinyu, Cong Weitao, Li Xingyi were selected as the top young talents. Up to now, 16 persons of WMU have been selected into the provincial "Ten-thousand Talents Plan".

    Jin Shengwei, M.D., post-doctor of the University of London, chief physician, professor (Tier 2), Ph.D. supervisor. He has been engaged in clinical, teaching, and scientific research of critical care medicine for a long time. For difficult problems of sepsis treatment, he proposed a new strategy of proinflammatory regression to prevent and treat sepsis. He established a brand new system for the early warning, diagnosis, and treatment of sepsis, which has been proved to be effective and safe. This system has been popularized many large hospitals, generating significant social and economic benefits. Besides, he hosted 5 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and 2 projects of foreign exchange and cooperation. As the corresponding author or first author, he has published more than 100 research papers, among which more than 50 have been published in ANN RHEUM DIS, Science Advance, Arthritis Rheumatol, and other top SCI journals. His papers have been cited by NEJM、Lancet、JAMA、BMJ、Immunity and other high impact factor SCI journals for 1520 times, and his research results were included in a classic textbook of Harvard Medical School The basis of inflammation. He has won the first prize of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award as well as the Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award. Furthermore, he was selected into the National “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project”( the National Young and Mid-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution), the first tier talent of Zhejiang 151 Talent Project, Provincial High-level Innovative Talents Project, and enjoys special government allowance of the State Council.

    Shen Xian, M.D., chief surgeon, professor, Ph.D. supervisor. He is an academic leader of one of the first group of Provincial supporting disciplines "clinical nutrition", a member of the Gastric Cancer Professional Committee of the China Anti-cancer Association, a member of the Chinese Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, and vice chairman of the Zhejiang Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. He has been engaged in minimally invasive surgery, comprehensive treatment, and clinical research of gastrointestinal tumors for a long time. He was the first to put forward the concept and technological innovation of minimally invasive surgery for gastric cancer in the southern region of Zhejiang, and won the champion of the national finals of the gastric cancer surgery video in both 2014 and 2015. He developed a quality control system during perioperative period for sarcopenia, which was widely applied in more than 20 hospitals including The First Affiliated Hospital and The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. He first proposed the diagnostic criteria of CT skeletal muscle index for sarcopenia in patients with gastric cancer in the international community, which were widely applied and highly evaluated by many top international journals including Ann Surg and Ann Oncol. Besides, he presided over 2 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and published 61 SCI papers, with total impact factor reaching 251.14 and 1045 times of citation, among which 34 papers were published in journals ranking Q2 or above. He was selected as the Provincial High-level Innovative Talent, the Young and Mid-aged Academic Leader of Colleges and Universities in Zhejiang, and the Outstanding Talent of the Wenzhou "Special Support Plan".

    Wu Jinyu, Doctor of Science, researcher, Ph.D. supervisor. He has long been engaged in medical genomics research and mainly focuses on the "relationship between new mutations and sporadic genetic diseases". The relevant achievements were awarded the top ten advances in medical biotechnology of China in 2017. He also presided over 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation and 1 project of Youth Fund. He has published more than 50 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author in international leading journals such as Molecular Psychiatry and Biological Review, 7 of whose impact factor were above 10He won the second prize of the Natural Science Award of the Education Ministry, the first prize of the Zhejiang Natural Science Award and the second prize of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award. He was selected as a distinguished professor of the Zhejiang "Qianjiang Scholars" Project, the first tier talent of Zhejiang 151 Talent Project, and the Top Young Talent in Wenzhou.

    Cong Weitao, Doctor of Science, researcher, Ph.D. supervisor. He has long been engaged in the research on the mechanism of cardiovascular diseases, and already made some achievements in the research on the protective mechanism of metallothione protein and growth factor on myocardial senescence and the mechanism of myocardial infarction. What’s more, he presided over 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation and 1 project of Youth Fund and has published more than 40 SCI papers in Autophagy, Antioxid Redox Signal and other internationally renowned journals. He has got authorized 3 invention patents and won the second prize of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award. He was selected as the Young and Mid-aged Academic Leader of Colleges and Universities in Zhejiang, an Up-and-coming Patient Care Provider in Zhejiang, the third tier talent of the Zhejiang 151 Talent Project, the Leading Talent of Scientific and Technological Innovation of the Wenzhou "Special Support Plan", a talent of the Wenzhou "580 Overseas Talents Introduction Plan", the first tier talent of the Wenzhou 551 Talent Project, etc.

    Li Xingyi, M.D., researcher, visiting scholar at Brandeis University in America. He has been engaged in the research of new drug delivery system of hydrogel for a long time, and has carried out systematic innovative work in the construction of small molecule hydrogel drug delivery system and in the field of biomedical application. He presided over 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation and 1 project of Youth Fund and has published 46 SCI papers in academic journals such as Adv Mater and Adv Funct Mater as the first author or corresponding author. He has obtained 2 invention patents and won the first prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award and the first prize of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award. He was selected as the Young and Mid-aged Academic Leader of Colleges and Universities in Zhejiang, the third tier talent of the Zhejiang 151 Talent Project, the second tier talent of the Wenzhou 551 Talent Project, etc.

    It is reported that a total of 250 people are selected into the third batch of the "Ten-thousand Talents Plan" of Zhejiang Province, including 12 outstanding talents, 60 leading talents in scientific and technological innovation, and 98 top young talents.
